Contact an architect to get the design stage started, once a design has been agreed you can instruct them to complete planning level drawings.
Step Two
Submit Drawings
Submit the drawings to your local authority planning department, this stage generally takes 8-10 weeks.
Step Three
Cost Estimate from Hatch Construction
At this stage Hatch Building & Construction would be happy to issue a provisional cost estimate whilst you await planning approval.
Step Four
Planning Permisson Granted
If planning permission is granted then it’s now time to return to the architect and get the plans drawn up ready for building control approval.
Step Five
Instruct Your Structural Engineer
Once the plans are at building control standards its advisable to instruct your structural engineer, this is who designs the structural elements of the build you have had designed by your architect.
HELPFUL TIP: Ask and pay for a site visit from the engineer, especially if your design requires lots of the existing structure to be removed, this will pay dividends as the build starts.
Step Six
Building Control Plans Submitted
Submit your building control plans and structural calculations to either your local authority building control or private building control contractor for approval.
Step Seven
Send Plans to Hatch Construction
Whilst you await building control approval resend all plans and structural drawings and calculations to Hatch Building & Construction and we will give you a Revised estimate.
HELPFUL TIP: It's also a good time to send Hatch Building & Construction any details and specific designs from yourself such as glazing requirements, electrical design specification and plumbing and heating requirements.
STEP EIGHT
Terms and Conditions
At this stage your finalised estimate will be sent for you to approve. Once a booking has been confirmed we will then send our customers our terms and conditions along with the payments schedule to be agreed and returned.
Step Nine
Work will Begin
Hatch Building & Construction will undertake the work quoted for within the discussed time frames that have been agreed. We will deal with your chosen building control throughout the build process to enable the project to be signed off and a building certification to be issued upon completion.
